Grounding
Simple Practices
If this week you have checked a lot off your to do list without being present to any of it, there are a couple of simple grounding practices I want to suggest for this weekend.
They bring attention into the body, slow down the mental activity and encourage presence.
1. Cold water reset: run cold water in your hands for 20-30 seconds and feel the sensation on your skin
2. Standing tall: press your feet firmly into the ground for 1 minute and notice the contact with the surface you are sitting on.
3. Nature focus: pick one natural thing near you (a leaf, a flower, …) and observe it closely: its colour, shape, texture. Stay with it for one minute.
And … there is a 4th one, my favorite: walk barefoot on the grass if you can. Feel the contact with the earth. Ideally at sunset when the earth is warm and charged with all that beautiful solar energy.
